Matko Mrakovcic joins the ADvendio global sales team as an Account Executive, taking responsibility for ADvendio’s Mid-Market Enterprises in the European region. We are delighted to welcome Matko to the team. As a competitive swimmer for many years, we look forward to utilizing his competitive flare to further ADvendio’s expansion.
We caught up with Matko to learn more about his background and experience and what he is looking forward to in his new role.
1. Tell us about your background.
I grew up in a small town in Croatia and lived there until I finished high school. After that, I decided to move to Dublin (Ireland). Swimming has been a big part of my life since I was young—I was a competitive swimmer for many years and continued pursuing it throughout college. I studied at University College Dublin (UCD), where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Human Resources. After that, I decided to continue my education with postgraduate degrees in Business & Sustainability and Project Management. After finishing college, I decided to stop swimming and focus on building my professional experience. I also chose to stay in Dublin because I love the people and culture. The city offers many opportunities, and I felt it was the right place to start my career. Dublin has become home, and I’m excited for what’s next.
2. What’s your job title and the regions you’re focused on?
I am an Account Executive reporting to Samantha Giaver, the Head of Global Sales. I will focus on Mid-Market Enterprises in the European region.
3. What led you to a career in sales, and what do you enjoy most about working in sales?
I accidentally got into sales after working as a swim teacher at West Wood Health Clubs. I transitioned from teaching swimming to a Membership Sales Consultant role, where I started selling memberships. At the time, I had no idea what I was getting into, but now that I look back, I don’t think I could’ve made a better decision.
In general, I love working in sales because it allows me to connect with people and build meaningful relationships. I enjoy the fast-paced environment and find it rewarding to see the results of my hard work and skill. Being able to make a real impact while continuously learning and growing is what makes sales exciting for me.
4. How has your previous experience prepared you for your role with ADvendio?
Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many customers, each with their own unique needs and expectations. I understand that decisions, especially in the tech space, often require time and careful consideration, and I’m always ready to support that process.
At ADvendio, I look forward to building strong relationships with clients and helping them get the most value from our platform.
5. What expectations do you have for this new role in ADvendio?
In my new role at ADvendio, I want to build good relationships with clients and help them use our platform to improve their advertising. I’m excited to learn more about ad tech, grow my sales skills, and help the company succeed. I look forward to working with the team and supporting clients in a fast-paced environment.
6. Is there anything else you would like to add?
I live in Dublin, Ireland, where I enjoy socializing and hiking. If you’re ever in the area, I’d be happy to connect and share some experiences.
