Contact Management

Contacts are all of the individuals associated with your business accounts that you need to track in
Under the contacts tab, you can quickly create, locate, sort and filter contacts. In addition, this tab lets you view and edit detailed information on each contact to which you have access. The contacts list page displays a list of contacts in your current view. From this page, you can view detailed contact information and access other related information.

To show a filtered list of items, you can select a predefined list from the View drop-down list, or click “Create New View” to define your own custom view, you can also edit or delete any view you created at any time. You can store various information for a contact, such as phone numbers, addresses, titles, and roles in a deal.

Contacts that are not linked to an account are always private. Only the owner of the contact and administrators can view it. Sharing rules and workflow rules do not apply to private contacts. Private contacts always belong to the global division of your company.
You can easily sync contacts between Outlook and ADvendio. When you sync contacts, Salesforce CRM for Outlook checks to see whether a contact with the same email address exists. If a matching email exists, the two contacts are synced. If it doesn’t exist, Salesforce CRM for Outlook checks to see whether a contact with the same first name, last name, and company name exists. If it doesn’t exist, a new contact is created and the two are synced.
A contact has the following fields:

Contact OwnerAssigned owner of the contact
NameThe name of the contact as displayed on the contact edit page
Account NameName of account this contact is linked to
TitlePerson’s position within his or her organization
BirthdateBirthday. You can enter a date or choose a date from the calendar that displays when you put your cursor in the field
Reports ToName of contact’s manager. You can enter an existing contact name or select the contact using the lookup icon
DescriptionDescription of contact
FunctionDivision to which the contact belongs
Mailing AddressThe address of the contact
Created ByUser who created the contact including creation date and time
PhoneContact’s primary phone number
Home PhonePerson’s home phone number
MobileCellular or mobile phone number
Other PhoneAdditional phone number listing
