Camilo Durán joins the ADvendio global sales operations team as a Business Development Representative, working closely with our global sales team. We are excited to welcome him to our sales team. In his previous role as a Quality Assurance (QA) Tester with ADvendio, he gained a deep understanding of our product’s quality and functionality, which will be a great advantage in his new role as our Business Development Representative.

We recently spoke with Camilo to learn more about his professional background and expectations for his new role at ADvendio.

1. Tell us about your background.

I have spent around three years working in Quality Assurance (QA), with my most recent role being at ADvendio. My time in QA has allowed me to develop a strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of product quality and functionality. This experience has given me a solid foundation in understanding how our solutions work, which will be valuable in my new role as a Business Development Representative.

Before moving to Chile, I lived in New York for about 15 years. That time helped me develop a global perspective and a strong adaptability to different environments, which will be helpful in connecting with prospects from diverse backgrounds and industries.

2. What’s your job title and the regions you’re focused on?

My current job title is Business Development Representative (BDR), and I’m primarily focused on the EU region. I’m excited to connect with potential clients across the EU and understand their specific needs.

3. Why are you interested in sales development?

I’ve always been drawn to sales because it allows me to connect with clients on a daily basis. With my outgoing personality, I thrive in environments where I can engage with people, build relationships, and contribute to driving growth. Sales development excites me because it involves solving problems, facing new challenges, and finding creative solutions. I’m eager to use my energy and enthusiasm to help potential clients discover how ADvendio’s solutions can make a real impact on their business.

4. How has your previous experience prepared you for your role with ADvendio?

My three years in QA have equipped me with strong problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and a deep understanding of product functionality, all essential for success in sales development. During my time in QA, I had the opportunity to deliver product demos to clients, which helped me build confidence in communicating technical concepts and demonstrating how our solutions meet specific customer needs.

Additionally, my exposure to the ADvendio platform has given me a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of our solutions. This background allows me to effectively convey the value of our offerings and connect with prospects more meaningfully.”

5. What expectations do you have for this new role in ADvendio?

I’m excited to continue learning and growing in this new role. My primary expectation is to become fully prepared to face any new challenges that come my way, especially as I adapt to the fast-paced nature of sales development. I’m eager to expand my knowledge of the sales process and contribute to the team’s success. Ultimately, I hope to grow within the Sales area and establish myself as a successful BDR, consistently driving positive results for ADvendio.

6. Is there anything else you would like to add?

I’m excited about this opportunity and look forward to growing professionally and personally in this role. I’ve always been passionate about technology and sales, and I’m thrilled to combine those interests.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and exploring new experiences. I love riding my longboard along the coast of Viña del Mar; something about being by the ocean keeps me energized. I’m also passionate about cars, so I enjoy going for joyrides in my car whenever possible. Sports are another big part of my life. Football is my favorite sport, but I enjoy all kinds of sports.
